My role

I’ve been a freelance blog writer for Softr since February 2026.

The project

I write 2–5 blog posts per month. Sometimes they provide me a brief with keywords, and sometimes the assignment is freeform. They tend to assign me best apps roundups, app comparisons, and pricing guides.

Timeline

My approach

Nowadays, anyone can produce a blog post by prompting AI. So to stand out—to rank on Google and get cited in AI search—I do some AI-assisted research but spend most of my time testing the tools and sourcing opinions from communities I’m part of. I also infuse my blog posts with lighthearted asides and stories from my life to bring humanity to the writing.

What I delivered

13 blog posts so far, around 3,000 words each.

Noteworthy wins

  • “HubSpot Service Hub pricing” reached #2 for its exact target keyword within 30 days of publication.

  • “Codex vs. Cursor” reached page 1 (#8) for a 1,100-search/month keyword in under five months. It now draws around 33 organic visits a month.

  • “Codex vs. Claude Code” earned 11 backlinks from 4 referring domains and ranks for a 1,300-search/month comparison keyword.

  • Across the set, my posts have made 31 AI search appearances in Google AI Mode, ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, and AI Overviews.
